Barrie Real Estate Market Off to a Good Start in 2009!

The first quarter of 2009, although down little from 2008, has been more active than some might have guessed. Homes in the Barrie Area, including Innisfil, Essa, Angus, Springwater, Midhurst and Oro-Medonte that are priced up to $270 000 have been selling well. Those home priced $300 000 and more are taking much longer to sell and there seems to be less buyers available for those properties.

Where are the Buyers coming from? Most buyers we are dealing with here at Elite Access Realty Inc., Brokerage are coming from the Toronto area. First time buyers finally find themselves in the driver’s seat as the market has definitely changed from the Seller's Market for the past 6 years or more to a Buyers Market. Historically low mortgage rates have also fueled the first time buyers market and have also helped a portion of "move up" buyers.

Barrie area Sellers, those who are serious about moving, are competing for these buyers like never before. Buyers have many homes to choose from - so Sellers need to make sure their home is being presented extremely well and to the most amounts of "eyes" as possible. What do I mean by eyes? Well, the real estate market in North America - probably the world - has changed tremendously. The internet has taken a leading roll in the search methods of buyers AND sellers with more than an estimated 85% of home buyers turning to web to begin the search.
